Leadership is an effort and process of propelling an organized group toward attaining its goals. Different leaders employ different approaches in matters of leadership, raising the question of whether specific personal characteristics and attributes inhibit the leadership process (Hughes et al., 2019). While leaders are similar to followers, several attributes, such as laziness, irritability, impulsiveness, and an unwillingness to give orders, can make a leader ineffective. I have worked for a few managers before, and some of them portrayed poor attributes, including a lack of openness to experience, lack of conscientiousness, introversion, neuroticism, lack of agreeableness, lack of intelligence, and lack of emotional intelligence.
